My rest is in heaven, my rest is not here, Glory is certain

Then why do I worry when trials are near!

Be hushed my dark spirit, the worst that can come

But shortens your journey, and hastens you home.

I dare not be seeking my comfort and bliss,

Or building my hopes in a place such as this;

I look for the city God promised and built,

Where Jesus has banished my sin and its guilt.

and am hidden with Christ

So my mind will be set on this:

Glory is certain, for Christ is in me,

Afflictions may press me but cannot destroy,

One glimpse of His love turns them all into joy;

The tears of a lifetime will vanish away

When He stoops to dry them on that coming day.

So let Satan's army assail me full force;

Their plans cannot help but to steady my course.

Come joys or come sorrows, whate'er may befall

An hour with my Savior will sweeten them all.

Lord, whatever soon is coming

You’ll be guiding, in control

So with courage I am turning

Now my eyes to the unknown

Teach to follow without question

Father, all You do is good.

Teach me just to bear the present

With a brave and peaceful heart.

2 Lord, I want to praise Your kindness

Though my soul can’t grasp Your ways

Blessed am I, when I dare trust You

Even though my eyes can’t see

And when all Your ways seem darkened

I will never ask You, why

One day I’ll see all Your splendor

When in heaven I’ll arrive.

Lord, don’t let me write my future

If I could, I would not dare

O how would I be mistaken

When the choice was at my care

Father, treat me like a small child

I can’t go just on my own

Take my hand into Your own hand

Guide me gently, safely home.

Father, Father, You are faithful

You are always on my side

I will walk now without vision

But by faith, that You’ll provide.
